The size recommendations presented below should serve merely as a rough guide in selecting the wick size for your application. Wick selection involves many variables including wax type, candle diameter (width), fragrance oil density, and personal preference.  We encourage you to try our zinc core wick sample pack for testing purposes before making your wick selections because we cannot accept returns on wicks.

For container and votive candles, we recommend our pre-tabbed wicks.  For pillar candles, we recommend using raw (untabbed & unprimed) wick, but tabbed wicks can be used when making pillar candles with pillar wick pins. 

 

Our pre-tabbed zinc core wicks are primed with high melt wax (212F) and have a round tin base (20 mm) attached that helps keep the entire wick assembly standing upright and prevents it from flopping over as the candle burns down to the end. The zinc core assists in keeping your wick straight and centered while it is burning.
